Alex Luby
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Alex (she/her), is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Her path into this work has been shaped by years of supporting youth and young adults in community mental health, where she learned the importance of showing up authentically and building connection through kindness, creativity, and sometimes even a little laughter. Her academic background also grounds her approach—she holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, a Master of Science in Foundations of Clinical Psychology from Southampton University in the UK, and an Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Neuroscience, and Behaviour from McMaster University, along with a certificate in Addiction Studies.
In her practice, she takes a person-centered approach, prioritizing warmth, kindness, and empathy. She sees therapy as a collaborative process, working together to explore your experiences, clarify your goals, and navigate the challenges of life and relationships. Her aim is to help you understand your emotions, uncover new perspectives, and build upon the resilience and strengths you already carry. Depending on your needs, she draws from approaches such as Emotion-Focused Therapy, Relational Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. She welcomes clients of all identities and strives to create a safe, affirming space free of judgment.
In this season of life, Alex enjoys spending time with family, learning and growing through motherhood, walking, playing volleyball, and listening to podcasts.
